        <description>After a week of heavy snow over the Pennines the A672 between Denshaw and the M62 motorway was closed for several days due to six foot snow drifts blocking the road at this point.
This picture was taken the morning the road was reopened to four-wheel drive vehicles only after snow blowers had cut a path through the deep snow.</description>

This picture was taken in January 2010 after three weeks of adverse weather conditions of snow and ice with overnight temperatures dropping to -17.

        <description>Built in 1860 by flannel manufactures J.Bradbury &amp; Co this four storey stone built mill has had many uses over the years.
In the mid 1980s it was a craft centre which was divided into small units.
Today the mill on the banks of the river Tame has been converted into stylish living apartments.
For future reference a 2 bedroom fourth floor flat was on the market
for £199,950 in March 2009.
