A Grade I listed Church originally founded in 550 AD and named after St Just the Martyr as a Celtic Church until approximately 950 AD when it was 'taken over' by the Bishops of Cornwall, Crediton and Exeter. The present Church building dates from the 13th Century, was restored in 1872 and apart from a few additions (the vestry) is as it was in 1872. It is surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens which is also the church graveyard.text/html2020-07-25T21:05:09+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/73179Mike Lyne50.231165 -5.158177SW7441 : Ale and Cakes Mine Engine House

There is not much left of this old mine Engine House near United Downs and within a 100 metres of the Bissoe to Carharrack road. The structure of the building is in very good condition but not much else there.text/html2020-07-25T20:36:51+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/73179Mike Lyne50.238025 -5.154002SW7542 : Bridge Supports over long abandoned Railway

A road bridge over the disused railway line that looks like it served the Wheal Maiden Mine near the village of Crofthandy. It is now a footpath and Cycle Track that is popular with walkers and cyclists travelling up from the Bissoe direction.
There are frequent signs of the old railway by the granite blocks to which the rails were fastened.text/html2020-06-20T15:37:59+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/73179Mike Lyne50.283641 -4.898274SW9346 : Sun dappled country lane

On the unclassified narrow country lane (Creed Lane) between Grampound and its junction with the B3827 from Hewas Water to Tregony is this 'tunnel' of trees and undergrowth totally enveloping the road but it looks nice in the dappled sunlight.text/html2020-06-20T15:34:28+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/73179Mike Lyne50.285914 -4.900939SW9346 : Bridge over Fal River Tributary

Nancor Cross is a Scheduled Monument (as from March 1974). These were part of a network of Christian Crosses erected between the 9th to 15th Century as a reminder of the Christian Churches in the area and to act as a way marker on regularly travelled routes. These tend to be concentrated in Cornwall and Dartmoor but with an estimated 350 across the country in total.text/html2020-06-02T10:53:12+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/73179Mike Lyne50.303077 -4.883585SW9448 : Garlenick Wind Farm

Garlenick Wind Farm with Turbine WG2 nearest the camera and Turbine WG1 behind it on a calm, hot, and still day with no breeze at all so they were not revolving and generating. These two are very visible just off the A390 road between Hewas Water and Grampound in Cornwall and are a bit of a local landmark.text/html2020-05-30T14:32:33+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/73179Mike Lyne50.320982 -4.958573SW8950 : Ladock School House

The School House next to St Ladoca's Church in the village of Ladock was built in 1867. This has been a Grade II listed building since 17th October 1984. There is a plaque on the wall that says "Erected by R E and M A H Wise for the good (under God's Blessing) of the children of Ladock 1867".text/html2020-05-30T14:27:17+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/73179Mike Lyne50.318969 -4.952828SW8950 : Trethurffe Manor Entrance
