Geograph - photograph every grid square

I know that many of my images are very boring, but they are purely record images, as I photograph the mundane rather than the spectacular.
When I began photography in 1948, I was just 13. My father gave me an old quarter-plate camera, which could use glass plates or cut film, but the plates were very expensive, so I took very few photographs with this. Also, the plates had to be individually developed in dishes, and because I used panchromatic plates, it had to be done in complete darkness.
The next year, I acquired a 620 box camera which took 12 pictures on a 120 roll film. This was much more suitable for a boy and I used it for the next three years. My father always insisted that I kept careful records of when and where I took my photographs, and this habit has stood me well when it came to putting some of them up on the Geograph site.
Until about 2004, I processed all my own work, including colour, but happily took up digital photography which is all I do nowadays.
My interests, apart from, obviously, photography, include canals and waterways, railways, urban transport systems, maps, industrial archaeology, buildings, cities, trees, real ale...life!
I'm now 75 and still enjoying life. Where possible, I use public transport or walk, when out taking photographs. I enjoy working in heavy urban areas, and also areas on the edge between urban and rural.
