        <description>The bridge is quite old and was built for people travelling on foot 

The bridge was originally about 1 metre above the bed of the stream. About 1960 a pipe was placed in the stream bed and cobbles laid over.

I was told by someone sometime ago that this was once the main route to the south and west from Truro.</description>

        <description>The brickworks operated from 1891 to 1907. The bricks were made from the china clay and other sediment that had washed down from the upper river Fal where there were many china clay works in the catchment area. With a high china clay content the bricks were highly resistant to heat and were used in fire places, chimneys and furnaces.</description>
