Looking towards West Kyloe farm from Kyloe Crag. A herd of cattle are grazing the grassland to the left of the farm track. Meanwhile, in common with much of the local arable acreage, the winter cereal and oilseed rape fields on the right of the farm track are suffering from bare patches and are behind in their growth. This is due to a prolonged period of poor, particularly wet, weather dating back to the last crop growing season.

These way marks are located on the rail of a fence adjacent to a stile on the public footpath on the edge of Buckton Moor. The waymarks for the three long distance paths have recently been replaced with new updated versions. Between Warkworth and Holy Island the Northumberland Coast Path and St Oswalds Way share the same route, so cleverly the share a waymark! Presumably that's a way of minimising cost and clutter on rural signposts.

Looking north east from the adjacent public footpath over arable land near Blawearie. As with a large number of other fields in the larger area patches of bare earth can be seen among the crop of a winter sown cereal. This is largely due to a prolonged period of poor weather dating back to the last growing season which has impacted on this years crops.
