Cromer windmill is the last remaining post mill in Hertfordshire (c1680). It stands beside the B1037 between the villages of Walkern and Cottered. The large wooden body of the mill is located on a tall oak post (over 18 feet high), around which it can rotate to allow the four shuttered sails to face into the wind.
