Built on the site of the Priory Meadow cricket ground, the Priory Meadow Shopping centre was opened in 1997 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
It is formed by a covered mall of shops and stalls, and an open square. The main building has five distinct round towers, four along Queens Road side.
In the centre is Queen's Square, with a statue of a batsman represents the site's history.
