Chantry Wood :: Shared Description
Chantry Wood is 193 acres of woodland and meadows purchased by Guildford Borough Council in 1938 to become a public open space. It has been known as Chantry Wood since 1486 when Henry Norbrigge, nine times Mayor of Guildford, established a Chantry there.
