City Centre Free Shuttle Bus (1992-2011) :: Shared Description

This bus service was introduced when parts of the City Centre were pedestrianised, making access to the centre difficult especially for people with impaired mobility. It had to be free because it runs through the pedestrianised sections, and it is not possible to license one fare-paying service through such an area while refusing anyone else who wants to run through. It was subsidised by the County Council, who withdrew all bus subsidies in their budget cuts in 2011. The last services ran on April 16th.
