Spring Fling 2012 :: Shared Description
Each year Dumfries and Galloway hosts one of most successful open studios event of its kind in Scotland. Spring Fling 2012 Link
took place from 2 - 5 June and in celebration of its 10th birthday hosted a four day event including the commissioning of installation artist Alice Francis to create Couch, a temporary public artwork. Link
Highly visible to passers-by, Alice has flouted convention by upholstering a traditional Galloway Cottage in an archetypal floral stretch cover tailored to fit the building tightly so as to accentuate its contours and details.
