Abbey Close Burial Ground

This burial ground was associated with a United Presbyterian Church, now demolished, which stood at its eastern side. This area, immediately to the south of Paisley's Town Hall, is near Paisley Abbey, but should not be confused with the Abbey Cemetery – Link – which is in nearby Elderslie. LinkExternal link (at Happy Haggis) has the various memorials' inscriptions online; alternatively, see the Renfrewshire volume(s) of published "Pre-1855 Monumental Inscriptions".

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
