Since 2005, 13,169 contributors have submitted 6,459,383 images covering 280,423 grid squares, or 84.4% of the total squares

Good News! Mike ParkerExternal link, the author of Map Addict, On Red Hill and Mapping the Roads, has agreed to become the first ever Patron of the Geograph project. Mike thinks Geograph "is exactly what the internet was invented for." He uses Geograph for book research and for leisure and is fascinated by maps and the land that they show. He hopes to "help Geograph develop further in finding new generations of explorers, photographers, writers and map addicts." Christine Johnstone, Chair
