WAR GRAVES
My wife and I, when out walking around our local area, will often cut through from Twatling Road to Old Birmingham Road through the Lickey Cemetery Extension. We always noticed the three Commonwealth War Graves headstones alongside the path. When using the path in June 2022 we noticed that they were unkempt and obscured by tall grass and weeds
The three graves by the path in June 2022

After contacting the Commonwealth War Graves Commission we discovered there were a further four graves recognised by the CWGC
After some research we found these and they were also in a dreadful and shameful condition. For example this, believe it or not, was the grave of a First World War soldier Driver Norrey when we first found it.

We decided we had to do something to honour these servicemen and joined the CWGC as official volunteers
These are the same three graves after we had worked on them
and Driver Norrey's in December 2023
The full story of the seven graves, together with histories of each of the seven servicemen can be found at
