Grand Union Canal - Uxbridge to Brentford

Introduction

The Grand Union Canal joins London to Birmingham. For an overall map of its route see British Waterways map on their website Link . The section described in this article was part of the Grand Junction Canal, started in 1793. I have taken most of the photos on cycle rides along the towpath; I had to walk for the final section from Brentford High Street to the Thames. On these outings I noticed that some bridge numbers were missing from the original sequence, there is no bridge 197. New bridges have needed letters added to the numbers: there are bridges 200a, 200c and 200d.

Some bridge numbers are taken from Canalplan AC Gazetteer which has map references.
