This bridge, seen here from the east, has clearly been rebuilt into the present rather ugly structure. The bridge carries a metalled lane northwards to the hamlet of Whaddon, which has no other road access.

Traditionally, bridges on the Kennet & Avon Canal were known by name only. Numbers were not added until take-over by British Waterways.
There are still a few old timers who see bridge numbers as a waste of time.

This concrete bridge replaces a former swing bridge the abutments of which can still be seen.

Seen from the east. This fixed bridge carries the B3105, an important link between Bradford and Trowbridge which enters the latter town from the north-east and gives a useful alterantive to the main A363.

1977
Seen from the west. The cottage or cottages were probably originally occupied by canal employees such as the wharfinger.
