Norwich Remembers
Contents

The City of Norwich has many memorials, some of which are in public places and seen by thousands every day, others are less obvious and seen by only a few because they are housed in buildings and hence less commonplace. All are relevant to the history of Norwich.
Below are 130 memorials of various description and style, but almost every one honours someone whose life was cut short because of the futility of war.

For a War Memorial
Still to the last of crumbling time
Upon this stone be read,
how many men of England died
to prove they were not dead.
G.K. Chesterton (1919)
Although Norwich lost 1,555 servicemen and women in the Second World War it has no War Memorial with the names of those lost. I have however created a list gleaned from various sources.
Memorials listed here are generally within a two mile radius of Norwich city centre
