RG

RG are the first and last letters of Reading and this populous postcode area covers Berkshire (west of Bracknell), northern Hampshire and also includes the HENLEY-ON-THAMES post town in Oxfordshire. Numbering runs slightly haphazardly due to some capacity increasing changes, such as RG3 being split into 30 and 31, and RG12 (BRACKNELL) split into 12 and 42.

The RM postcode area derives from Romford and is a smaller than average one, extending to Tilbury on the Thames estuary.
