The North Meadows NNR lies between the River Thames and River Churn. The meadow is an old fashioned flower rich hay meadow and supports Britain's largest population of Snake's Head Fritillary. It is managed as a Lammas meadow, grazed by cattle, sheep and horses from Lammas Day, 12th August, until February 12th and then set aside for hay.

The River Churn joins from the north rising from north or Cirencester at Seven Springs.
