THE GRAND CHRISTMAS MARKET TOUR 2023
A short train ride took us to Royal Leamington Spa's handsome Art-Deco style station from where it was a short walk to the Christmas market in the town centre. On the way we crossed the River Leam and went past the historic Pump Room.

The Christmas market was set up all along The Parade and in some side streets. It started with a couple of fairground rides and then all the stalls you would expect from a Christmas market selling gifts, fast food and hand made crafts. There was also a small pen with goats and Shetland ponies.

On the way back to the station we passed the Regent Hotel, now a Premier Inn. This was opened in 1819 and is thought to be the first purpose built hotel
The Jephson Gardens were in full autumn colour The pond
Overall, a very enjoyable Market with plenty to see and some very interesting stalls. The town itself is also well worth a visit at any time of the year for the good range of shops and the Georgian architecture
