THE GRAND CHRISTMAS MARKET TOUR 2023
Travelled from home on the Cross City line to New Street station Before hitting the Frankfurt market we paid a visit to the Marks & Spencer store on High Street. It was the last day of trading from this site which was opened in 1957. M&S are moving to occupy two floors of the closed Debenhams store in the Bull Ring Centre.

The market was again laid out all along New Street from The Rotunda to Victoria Square and in front of the Town Hall and Council House.

If you've been to this market before you know what to expect. It's big, brash and lively and all much the same as it has been since it started twenty-three years ago. There did not, however, seem to be quite as many stalls as usual and the prices seemed to have risen dramatically - perhaps there's a connection there? Still, it's well worth visiting, and it certainly brings a lot of tourists to the City.
We made a return visit on a busy Saturday evening - what a difference[/b]
