THE GRAND CHRISTMAS MARKET TOUR 2023
We caught the through train from a sunny, but frosty, Worcestershire Parkway station
We passed through Gloucester, along the west bank of the Severn estuary, past Chepstow to Cardiff Central station.

Before visiting the market we decided to walk to the Wales National War Memorial in Alexander Gardens to pay our respects at the 11th hour.
On the way we looked in at Cardiff Castle The keep
Arriving at the Alexander Gardens we reached the War Memorial just before 11 o'clock.

On the way back to the city centre and the Christmas market we stopped off for a quick look in the National Museum
In particular, we wanted to see the collection of French Impressionist paintings

Stalls in St John's Street and by St John's church Hill Street
The Poppy Tree outside St John's The City Parish Church of St John the Baptist Inside
The City Parish Church of St John the Baptist was founded in the 12th century and
is one of the few remaining mediaeval buildings left in the City.
There are many arcades in Cardiff including the Morgan Arcade High Street Arcade
There's also the City Market Hall which has one very famous stall
A great day out in the beautiful City of Cardiff. Certainly well worth a visit.
