THE CITY OF YORK



We went by train on a crisp, dry and sunny November morning to visit the famous York Christmas MarketSE5951 : York station by Roy Hughes

We walked to Micklegate to climb on to the City walls and visited the Clifford's Tower castle on our way to the City centre

Before leaving the market for our journey home we walked around part of this beautiful and very historic City.

Leaving the walls at Monkgate we had another fabulous view of the MinsterSE6052 : The East Front, York Minster by Roy Hughes on our way back to the station.

A great day out. York fully deserves it's reputation as one of the very best Christmas markets in the country. Very highly recommended for a visit.
