"Queen's Chambers" Queens Street/Long Row, Nottingham
Whenever talking about Fothergill to someone from Nottingham who has not heard of him, this is the building that I describe. The usual reply is "Oh yes, I know that one". Although at the time it would have been un-restored and covered with eighty year's worth of industrial city grime I recall appreciating this building when a student in the city in the mid 1970s. At that time Long row along the north side of Slab Square and the bottom section of King Street was not pedestrianised as they are now and the feature small tower protruding from the corner supported by its pillar was far more evident as everyone on foot had to pass beneath it and people on the top deck of a bus turning from Long Row into King Street could have cleaned the windows as they passed.List Entry Number: 1254714

1898
"The Rose of England" Mansfield Road, Nottingham
With the loss of the Nottingham Brewery which stood behind it this Fothergill building is left looking for all the world like a sore thumb.List Entry Number 1058995

9 High Pavement, Nottingham
The plans are listed as Office alterations for E. S. Cowen

1899
Carlton Laundry, Marhill Road, Gedling
As with the Cattle Market building in Mansfield the original purpose of this building is obscure. Its listing Has it as a Laundry and dye works. Brand, however, states that it was originally a brewery. Whichever is right, it is now converted to residential use.List Entry Number: 1236194

"Burlington Tower" Burlington Road, Nottingham
My thanks to John Sutton for capturing this one, as he states in his descriptions it's a bit shy this one. The new owners (from 2016) have now opened-up the view and are in the process of restoring the property to a single dwelling - it having been converted to flats sometime in the 20th century. They are aided by original plans which were in the sale documentation.List Entry Number: 1246294
