The Paddington Trail

Between 4th November and 30th December 2014, 58 Paddington Bear statues were placed around London celebrating new film "Paddington". The trail helped to raise over £750,000 for 3 children's charities; NSPCC, ChildLine and Action Medical Research.


A typical statue was hand-painted and made of glazed fibreglass, 114cm high. Though there were variations in design, textures and size.

51 of the statues were sold by Christies at two auctions, each raising between £5,000 and £58,000. One live auction was held on 10th December 2014, and an online auction that ended on 7th January 2015. All proceeds were donated to the three charities.

The highest price achieved of all the auctioned Paddingtons was W2 1RH which sold for £58,000.
