This old rowing boat in the car park adjacent to the parish church has been turned into an ornamental planter. There is a quote along the bottom which reads: 'Second Star To The Right & Straight On 'Til Morning' (from Peter Pan). The metal plates cover pumping machinery which is part of the waste water treatment facilities for West Wemyss.

The Fife Coastal Path goes straight ahead. There is access to the beach on the left. The barrier prevents people climbing onto the rocks which are part of the anti-erosion defences protecting the newly-built wall. The square boulder to the right carries a plaque (which doesn't photograph well) celebrating the completion of the new sea wall defences in 2001.

West Wemyss harbour once consisted of an outer harbour and an inner harbour. The inner harbour was filled in and reclaimed as land in 1964 but this section of the inner harbour wall still survives.
