Geo-Trips :: The Avon Estuary Walk (Devon)
Avon Estuary (Devon)
A walk from Bantham beach, Mon, 23 Jul 2018 by David Smith
The Avon Estuary Walk is a circular walk on the two banks of the River Avon, crossing at the lowest bridge on the river at Aveton Gifford. The circle is completed by a ferry trip across the river at Bantham. The walk is the recommended diversion for walkers on the South West Coast Path when the ferry is not running. This was a walk to grab a few squares. The favourite picture shows the remains of an attempt to create grazing land by the river
Click the blue circles to see a photograph taken from that spot and read further information about the location. The blue lines indicate the direction of view. There is also a slideshow of this trip. ( )
