Geo-Trips :: A visit to Shropshire
Albrighton
A drive from Woodstock, Sat, 30 May 2020 by David Howard
As my initial plan to go to Wales was prevented due to the border being closed under lockdown, I checked for as many pre-Worboys signs I could get, and found a rich vein this side of Shropshire (the rest were too far). As far as I know I've never been there before, as it isn't on a motorway or on the way to many places that aren't unless you're heading to north Wales or thereabouts. The familiar route covered Stratford-on-Avon to Worcester, then Bromsgrove and Redditch, and then pretty much dead straight to Bridgnorth. I then took a turn towards Wolverhampton for another sign in Staffordshire, before returning the same way. I very much doubt it would have occurred to me to go otherwise so it was well worth the lockdown as I found many more since by searching Google Maps.
