I have many green spots the other side of London from me as it's always busy getting there whichever route you use, so does not get as much coverage as the other areas south and west. I know the area fairly well as my grandparents lived in Ilford when they were alive till 1975 so made regular visits until then including various hospitals on the fringes of Essex in their later years. The mock Tudor pre-war houses prevail, and run for miles and miles of almost identical housing from Redbridge to the end in Harold Wood. There are many parks, some well-landscaped, probably the best being my father's local Valentines Park, which I have not been to for a very long time. But I did stop at a few as some also have ample car parking. Returning is always easy as the North Circular Road heading west is rarely busy after the rush hour and almost takes me to my door.
