A Cabbage White butterfly laying eggs
This cabbage white (Pieris brassicae) is laying eggs on the underside of a nasturtium leaf in my garden. The eggs are laid at the rate of four per minute and will take about ten days to hatch. For a close up view of a group of eggs, see NT4936 : Cabbage White butterfly eggs (Pieris brassicae).
