The majority of these posts such as the one beside TQ0277 : Colnbrook Bridge give the reference of the exact act of parliament: "24 & 25 Vict. Cap. 42", ie. the London Coal and Wine Duties Continuance Act, 1861. This post was cast before the act had been passed and just bears the legend "24 VICT" which was as meaningless in 1861 as it is today.
