SD6080 : Bridge over the River Lune

taken 17 years ago, near to Kearstwick, Cumbria, England

Bridge over the River Lune
Bridge over the River Lune
Although found on private land near the Vale of Lune Holiday Cottages LinkExternal link this is a fine example of the large scale of bridges required to bridge this large river. Prone to heavy flooding in the Lune Valley, the high arches help keep the roadway dry even under the worst of flooding conditions.
