SK2787 : Rivelin Dams Bus Terminus

taken 56 years ago, 3 km from Dungworth, Sheffield, England

Rivelin Dams Bus Terminus
Rivelin Dams Bus Terminus
The bus, PD2 RWJ 706, was built in 1954 and withdrawn in 1968. It is standing at, what was/is, Rivelin Dams Terminus and I had just driven it there from Pinfold Lane, Sheffield. The dams are just behind me. The route was an hourly service, but if there was a bus shortage it was pulled from this route. Incidentally my wife was the clippie.

40 years separate my photograph and this excellent picture taken by David Lally shows the Norfolk Arms on Monday, 25 August, 2008 - Link
