taken 16 years ago, near to Longtown, Cumbria, England

The view shows the pleasant riverside walk looking north towards the Scottish hills. Longtown has a somewhat turbulent history, being very close to the Scottish border. The Border Reivers raided the area for cattle and other goods. Longtown has the largest sheep market in England.
