SJ0425 : Wet pastureland by the Afon Tanant
taken 16 years ago, near to Llangynog, Powys, Wales
Wet pastureland by the Afon Tanant
This riverside meadow was very wet, as can be seen by the thick growth of rushes in the foreground of the photo. This area is very heavily wooded - both with commercial plantations and small clumps of trees which serve the useful purposes of providing animals with shelter from the weather above and drier footing at their base. The Welsh Cob pictured is in her native country, and thrives on this type of grazing, which even in the valley bottoms is fairly rough.
