The (interior) roof of Halton Church
The leaflet "Halton Church - An Historical Guide" by Lesley Milner says that "In 1706 the present height of the building was established when it was given the wooden roof which it still has and, outside, a neat battlemented parapet was built and the bell turret added". Pevsner notes that "The roof has massive timbers with very short king- and queen-posts".
