taken 18 years ago, near to Headingley, Leeds, England

Kirkstall Abbey Nave, Leeds
Kirkstall Abbey Nave, Leeds
The ruins of Kirkstall Abbey lie beside Kirkstall Road, the A65 running north-west from central Leeds. They are the property of Leeds City Council, and like many old abbeys are in a somewhat ruined state. Over the past 2 years the abbey church has been extensively repaired and restored, and new lighting has been installed. This is the view looking into the abbey through the west door. The east end of the abbey is in SE2636 where you will find other photos.
