taken 55 years ago, near to Falls of Dee [water Feature], Aberdeenshire, Great Britain

Source of the River Dee
Source of the River Dee
It is here on the Braeriach plateau at an altitude of 4,000 feet that the Dee begins its 85 mile journey to the North Sea at Aberdeen. For most of the year the plateau is snow covered but in the late Spring clusters of Alpine flowers
are to be found on the plateau.
The summit of Cairn Toul (4241 feet) and Sgor an Lochan Uaine (4095 feet) can be seen in the background.
