TM5177 : The last groyne

taken 17 years ago, near to Southwold, Suffolk, England

The last groyne
The last groyne
This is the final groyne to the north of Southwold. Beyond this, the sea is allowed to erode the cliffs, which have been designated an SSSI by Natural England.

Impressively, the sign on the landward end of the stone-block groyne provides a 10-figure grid reference - TM51269 77372.
