Wakefield Cathedral
A church has stood on the site of Wakefield Cathedral in Kirkgate since Saxon times. The present building was built in the 14th century and restored in the 19th century, and is a grade I listed building. The parish church of All Saints was elevated to cathedral status when Wakefield became a city in 1888.
