Hisley Bridge
The bridge is an important landmark and crossing point of the River Bovey, deep within its wooded valley some way from the nearest modern road. It would have been the only dry route across the river for anything other than pedestrians between Clapper Bridge at Neadon and Drakeford Bridge, some six kilometres apart. It sits at the very southeastern corner of the square. Looking downstream (a similar photo upstream would be across one, and possibly, two, gridlines).
