The Hans Egede Wreck and Jetty near Cliffe Fort
The Hans Egede Wreck and Jetty near Cliffe Fort
Jetty used by material works beside the fort. Various wrecks in the Higham Creek marshland beside the fort. This wreck is 'The Hans Egede' a Norwegian vessel built in 1922, which sprung a leak and sank in Egypt Bay. The boat was then towed to Higham Bight to prevent it becoming a hazard for other ships in the Thames.
