A walker in his heaven
A walker in his heaven
Having chosen to go up Pen y Fan, after a cloudy start in the valley, visitors were rewarded with stunning views over the clouds. One just has to sit down and contemplate. The view is north-west. The land above 400 metres pokes through the cloud, first Mynydd Epynt SN9642 then the moorland around Drygarn Fawr SN8658.
On the original image, and with the naked eye, one can make out higher peaks beyond. On the central horizon is Plynlimon SN7886. We have also checked the bearing of the large mountain on the horizon about a quarter of the way into the frame from the right. We have confirmed that it is Aran Fawddwy SH8622 102 kilometres (63 miles) away.
