Skibo Castle
This is the site of a 12th century bishop's palace: the building had a very mixed history until purchased in 1897 by Andrew Carnegie who built the present baronial style structure. It was again renovated and enlarged in the 1990s, and emerged as the exclusive Carnegie Club.
