Framsden Mill - Suffolk

A large Suffolk post mill dating from 1760 (several internal marks note this); built as an open trestle head and tail mill.
In 1836 Whitmore and Binyon millwrights of Wickham Market improved the mill by:
Raising the height considerably and adding a brick roundhouse
Switching from common to patent sails
Iron windshaft and other machinery such as a governor.
Flour dresser added
Switch from compass arm to clasp arm brake wheel.

The mill is in private ownership.
