NJ6500 : Bishop Stone (2006)The Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, Feb'13 1905 reports:
"In the wood, a little way to the north of the Glassel Circle, is a great boulder called the Bishop's Stone. In ground-plan it is irregularly triangular, the sides measuring 17, 15, and 16 feet respectively. In general height it is nearly 6 feet, and near the middle of the summit
6 feet 6 inches. The computed weight is about 38 tons. It is composed of grey granite".
