A1 - Great North Road
A section of the interminable run of the A1 through Northumberland. Newcastle is a long way south!
The A1 is rather reminiscent of the A9 from Perth to Inverness, alternating between a normal but improved road and a dual carriageway. Like the A9 it kills folk in its spare time, one ill judged overtaking manoeuvre nearly did for me.
