Loreto Community School
In 1966 nuns of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also called the Loreto Order, opened a Secondary School in Milford with an enrolment of 41 pupils, all girls. However, with the advent of free education in 1967, Loreto College became the first co-educational convent school in Ireland. The school status changed from a Secondary School to a Community School in 1996. The new school opened at the beginning of September 2006.
