Looking northeast from the riverside walkway opposite The Deep. Link The 202 tonne tidal surge barrier was built in 1980 near the confluence of the River Hull and the Humber Estuary to protect properties in the city from tidal flooding. The building seen through the arch is part of new and ongoing developments on Tower Street.
