Welcome to Maelmin
Welcome to Maelmin
This information board welcomes visitors to Maelmin, a reconstruction of a Mesolithic site near the village of Milfield (for which Maelmin is the historic name). To the right can be seen the wooden henge NT9433 : Maelmin - reconstruction of henge and in the centre-background the Dark Age Hall NT9433 : Maelmin - reconstruction of 'dark age' hall. The original village was discovered during extensions to Tarmac's nearby Cheviot Quarry in 2005, and lies beneath the field to the east of the reconstruction.
