taken 18 years ago, near to Horsley Cross, Essex, England
Clacton Road, Horsley Cross just north of the Wix By-pass (A120). If a foreign visitor having landed at Harwich is at this point they will have just made their first right turn after driving "straight" for 12 km. And possibly there was a serious accident here caused by someone driving on the wrong side. Of course the sign should be on the other side of the road! Essex is not always this helpful - if the foreign visitor continues along this road, they may land up in the Crown Hotel, Manningtree. There, if they go to the toilet, they will have to work out for themselves which of "Gulls" or "Buoys" is appropriate for their sex. The buildings on the right are part of the main treatment works of Tendring Hundred Water Services Ltd.
